Trowbridge Builder – Update Summer 2011 Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon, Melksham & Westbury areas
A brief summary of the work undertaken over the last year or so. It has been surprisingly busy given the state of the economy...
We’ve been very busy since the last web update project managing the conversion on an old school building into flats. The project has leveraged off all of our skills of design input, quantity surveying, project management and build.
We’ve also been involved with the design and build of a new bungalow. A challenging project requiring careful planning, not least because it required some very sensitive discussions and negotiations with the planning department at the local authority and with Wessex Water due to the build being perilously close to a main sewer. A slight move of the building and approval was gained so on with the job of the main build.
As always we’ve been working on numerous small projects including the conversion of an unused out building in to cloakroom and utility room, a small kitchen extension, several patios, various roof refurbishments. One of the most challenging major projects has been on a grade 2 listed converted church near Weston-super-Mare. This was for a previous customer who moved away but insisted that we travel as they were very concerned about the 150 year old hand-painted ceiling and wanted someone they could rely on and trust. A very rewarding project!
